CTAG has considered issues outside of the traditional realm of certification and training for pesticide applicators, including requirements for restricted use pesticide dealers to check identifications of certified applicators at the time of purchase, and tiered classification of pesticides beyond the current restricted/non-restricted/unclassified system currently in place.  These are links to papers and presentations made by or related to CTAG.

The Pesticide Certification & Training Assessment Group (CTAG), was established in 1996 to assess the current status of, and provide direction for, the future of the national pesticide applicator certification and training program. Pesticide certification and trainings are primarily handled by state governments and state land grant universities. CTAG’s mission is to develop and implement proposals that will strengthen federal, state, territory, and tribal pesticide certification and training programs which ultimately enhances the knowledge, skills and attitudes of pesticide users to ensure safe and effective pest management.
