Welcome

CTAG is a collaborative organization focused on maintaining and improving the quality of pesticide training and certification programs in the U.S.  Members include representatives from state pesticide regulatory agencies, pesticide educators from land grant universities, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency personnel, and representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  For more information about the mission & membership of CTAG, follow these links.

Current Activities

• CTAG is meeting December 7-8, 2011 in Arlington, Virginia.  See the draft agenda here.

• CTAG finalized Pesticide Applicator Recertification: Auditing Recertification Programs.

• CTAG is seeking comments on Pesticide Applicator Recertification: Addressing Core and Category Topics in Training through December 2, 2011.

• CTAG has released two papers:

  • Pesticide Applicator Recertification: Content Criteria

  • Pesticide Applicator Recertification: Online Training – Course Design and Structure

• CTAG finalized an accomplishment report for 2009-2011.

• CTAG has issued a fact sheeton Federal Agency Certification Plans.

• CTAG recently introduced CPARD 2.0. CPARD stands for Certification Plan & Reporting Database.

The Pesticide Certification & Training Assessment Group (CTAG), was established in 1996 to assess the current status of, and provide direction for, the future of the national pesticide applicator certification and training program. Pesticide certification and trainings are primarily handled by state governments and state land grant universities. CTAG’s mission is to develop and implement proposals that will strengthen federal, state, territory, and tribal pesticide certification and training programs which ultimately enhances the knowledge, skills and attitudes of pesticide users to ensure safe and effective pest management.
